bear casualties. In Canada Trophy hunting accounts for 700 polar
bear deaths a year. This number may increase since the province of
Nunavut routinely increases the kill quota. In Greenland hunters
currently kill between 200 and 250 polar bears per year.
How do
chemicals and PCBs get ingested?
The ocean is under chemical assault. Polar bears are
the highest up on the food chain and ingest all of the chemicals of their
prey such as seals and fish. Other chemicals that are ingested
include mercury, arsenic and lead.
Why does
Canada allow trophy Hunting?
This is a revenue generator. Canada has a poor
record when it comes to protecting wildlife if income is to be made.
